Greeter: Meet some of the over 45,000 people who visit and use the building every year. The greeter will answer a range of questions from where are the restrooms to does the Tavern have ghosts? You will receive training on how to answer these and many other questions. The greeter will hand out brochures and information on the Tavern, Theatre and the Restaurant. Greeters will inform the visitors about historic tours and can call a guide down to give them a tour on the spot.
Required skills: Pleasant conversational skills, enjoy working with people, interested in sharing their knowledge of the building and its tenants with the public, can volunteer at least one day per week or one day per month.
Hours: Tuesday through Friday from 11:30am – 1:30pm
Monday Volunteers: Join a group of dedicated volunteers on the first Monday of every month excluding August. Come at 9:30 a.m. and enjoy coffee, conversation and an array of interesting tasks. Past projects have included assembling cedar benches, decorating the building for special events, care of collections and mass mailings. The Tavern provides the supplies, coffee and doughnuts. You provide the skills and enjoy the comradeship. Many hands make light work. The following are dates for Volunteer Days in 2008:
